Family Grows Over Friend of Deadly Dallas Police Shooting

In the days since the Dallas police shooting that left five police officers dead, family members and friends have started to gather to express their condolences and remember the dead.

Officers were ambushed during an attempted robbery at a gas station in downtown Texas early Monday morning, police said.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as officers fired into the air, witnesses told the Dallas Morning News.

A witness, who declined to be identified for security reasons, said she was standing at the gas station and heard four shots from a handgun and saw officers running out of the station.

‘My heart goes out to the officer’s family,’ said the witness, whose name was withheld.

‘I’m sure they’re devastated.

I’m sure it’s been a tough week for them.
